Dad and I originally planned to go to the New National Gallery on Potsdamer st. We arrived and there was a huge line, all for the Richter Exhibition. The building is made of glass, and we saw some of the paintings from the outside, and it was just a bunch of colourful squares. O_O We went around the corner to the Kultur Forum, where, through horrible miscommunication, we were kind of just forced into buying a ticket for the Gemäldie Galerie instead. According to what I saw through the window of the new museum - it was a blessing in disguise.
The first half of the gallery was mostly gothic to early renaissance. I'm just going to be honest here, I'm not that bothered by this stuff. I went to the Canberra exhibition for my birthday this year, and I'm pretty sure I've reached my limit for Madonna and Child/crucifixion paintings. Though, I did find some gems among them.

It did move into late Renaissance, and I found some paintings that I thought were very beautiful. But I think, the more exhibitions I go to, the more defined my tastes have become. I'm all about the romantics and impressionists.
Anyway, the gallery itself was huge, so we spent a long time there. We came back to my apartment in the afternoon, and spent a few hours in the park. We had an appointment to see the Reichstag at 7:45. Not much to say about it, it was very beautiful. Hopefully the pictures tell the story well enough.

Excellent photobomb asian dude.
And, as promised, the pictures from the Gallery that I enjoyed. (plus a random picture taken later that night...)
