Bike ride around Tiergarten

Sunday, 28th April '12
Not-quite-so early on Sunday morning, my dad and I ventured to Nollendorfplatz for the second hand bike market. I think we arrived a bit too late, as there wasn't much choice left, and a lot of the bikes left, were more expensive than I thought. There were two bikes that seemed good to me. One was a girls bike, but the other was cheaper and lighter. So I went for the boys bike. It's slightly too big for me, so dismounting is a comedy for anybody near me, but I'm getting there.

I'm like a real european

Anyway, from there, my dad and I rode our bikes to Tiergarten, and did an 8km ride around the park. It was very relaxing and beautiful. Though at one point we did get lost and had to backtrack, so we ended cycling a lot more than 8km haha.

Once we finished our ride, we went to the Victory Column in the centre of the park and decided to go up it. The first level was fine, but to get to the very top. MY GOD. After cycling something like 12 km, and then walking up these steep as shit spiral stairs that never end... torture, pure torture. You don't realise how tall the column actually is until you have to climb to the top.

It was a lot of effort to look up a lady's skirt, I'll tell ya.
