England [Part 3]

Saturday, 21st June 2012
After an early morning wake up, I board a coach in Birmingham and head on over to ye olde London. I finally arrive at Victoria Station and realise I am an absolute moron. I had just casually gone to London without actually checking where my hostel was.

I proceeded to waste the next, no joke, 3 hours, walking around trying to find my hostel. Everywhere that had wi-fi required me to give a valid UK number. It was so frustrating. All I had to go off was a vague street name and direction, but everytime I checked the offline maps on my phone, I'd go in the wrong direction cause it took me ages to realise that the maps didn't automatically orientate themselves northwards.

Anyway, after much frustration and sweat, I arrive at my hostel. It's a kind of dingy place, and I'm in a closet sized 4 females only dorm, where there is no room for anything to fit. The hostel does not have free Wi-Fi, but I had to pay 3 pounds for it, for me to then realise it does not work in the rooms but only in "shared-common rooms".
I walked past this trying to find my hostel... didn't get a chance to visit it. I will next time I'm in London. :)

The rest of the night actually went way better. I met with my mom's cousin Kim for dinner and we had really nice 3 course Thai dinner and afterwards walked around London for a bit. I got back around midnight, she's such a nice woman and I found it say easy to talk to her. It was lovely.

Sunday, 22nd June 2012

I had so many grand plans for this day. Turns out I could only fulfil one. There were so many things I wanted to see but in order to make my plane back to Berlin, I only really had the morning and early-afternoon to get them done. There was a cool looking exhibition at the Library but it only opened at 11, so I had to skip it and then went on the Victoria and Albert Museum in Southern Kennsington.

I severely misjudged the size of this place. It was huge. It was the sort of museum that every corner had something I found interesting. But to be perfectly honest, the museum was just too big. I couldn't possibly give anything the attention it deserved because I was stressed for time and such a big museum really exhausts me. Anyway I have so many pictures, they had so many different exhibitions. They had sculptures, asian armour, ball gowns, iron work, jewellery over time... really, they had so much stuff. My goodness! So I had a lot of a photos... I need to stress this, a lot.
