Potsdam ESN Pub Crawl

Since last I posted, I've been so crazy busy. I can't even really remember what I've been doing. I'm really crap at keeping records of what I've done. Oops. Guess I'll have to work on that.

The first few days after moving I spent catching up on the blog. I also had to go to a welcome day in Potsdam for the university, where I met Park So Won. A girl from South Korea. On Wednesday night, the ESN (Erasmus Student Network) organised a pub crawl. I'd spent the entire last few days of that week frantically starting and finishing my assignment for UTS.

I finished it in time and went on the pub crawl, but I arrived at the meeting point quite late. Just as I arrived, I spoke with a girl and asked if that was the meeting point for the pub crawl. Soon after she confirmed that, the whole group start to split up and go in different directions! I was herded off with the first group I'd come across and went with them to Bar Gelb in Potsdam.

They all knew each other already. They all spoke amazing German. And by amazing German, I mean that's all they spoke. Who knew it was so exhausting trying to keep up with a conversation that is in German, I do now. My God!

The Bulgarian girl that I'd originally spoken to was really, really lovely! She tried so hard to include me in everything and made me feel welcome. But by the time we moved to another pub, my awkward, non-social self had begun to feel out of place and the constant German was really tiring, so when we ran into another group of students, I switched to their group... and found myself back in Bar Gelb. haha I sat with another lovely girl from Ireland, but my goodness she had so much to say and so quickly! Uhhhhh. But she was all full of smiles, so I was quite drawn to her. However, after about 20 minutes, Emma arrived and we sat together for a while and caught up, and eventually moved on to Kneipe Hafthorn where we met up with Emil, Natalia, and other people Emma already knew.

I had a really delicious burger there. I was disgustingly hungry by that point and ordered a vegetarian cheese burger. The patty was so good, it was made of Potato but had corn and spinach and peas in it. It was actually really nice. The burger though was massive!! It just fell apart every time I tried to take a bite.

Anyway, we caught a train back to Berlin around 12:30 at night. It was a good night, I was glad I went even if I was on the verge of uncomfortable most of the night.
