I decided I should document my time in this apartment. It is, after all, my very first apartment since moving out of home.
The apartment itself is very cute, in the quaint suburban neighbourhood of Bornstedt, Potsdam. It's about 15 minutes away to the tram stop in Kirschallee, and then it's a 15 minute tram ride to Potsdam HBF. But the train ride to Berlin from there adds another hour to the trip. Alas, all four of my friends live in Berlin, so it's not viable to live here long term.

I will give a visual tour of the rest of the apartment.
I do actually like the apartment, but there are two major elements missing that mean I cannot stay here permanently. Aside from the fact that it's far away.
1. No washing machine. My friends did say I could use their washing machines, but that means I would have to travel three hours every time I want to do washing. No thank you.
2. A more pressing issue - no oven, no microwave. Cooking for one is already so hard, but it's even harder without these appliances. I've found it really difficult to feed myself with a balanced diet, and I guess I've failed quite drastically. I've generally been living off coco-pops as a snack whenever I'm hungry, dinner/lunch has generally been exclusively carbs. Pasta with a sauce, mashed potato with chicken schnitzel, toast with an egg. Really basic food, as I can't cook anything more complicated because I don't have any capacity to keep leftovers. I've tried to make up for it, I eat fruit generally about once a day, drink a litre of orange juice every few days, have yoghurt etc. Plus I've been taking a multi-vitamin everyday, but still. I am eating so unhealthily right now, and I know I can't sustain a diet like this for a long period of time.
Bring on my new apartment in Berlin. Kitchen, balcony, washing machine and all!
